UK to help destroy Syria chemical weapons
London (CNN) — Britain will help destroy 150 tons of Syrian chemicals that can be used to make chemical weapons, the UK Foreign Office said Friday.
“The chemicals will be shipped to a UK port with suitable off-loading equipment before being transferred to a commercial site to be destroyed by incineration,” the Foreign Office said in a statement.
The UK is also providing a Navy ship to escort Danish and Norwegian ships transporting Syrian chemical stockpiles.
