After repeated attacks launched by unknown gunmen, IS digs a trench around the city of al- Mayadin

Deir Ezzor Province: IS militants shelled by mortar shells areas in the neighborhood of al- Jora, which is held by the regime forces, in the city of Deir Ezzor causing material damages.

 

The warplanes carried out a raid on places in the town of al- Qureyyah in the east of Deir Ezzor and places in Hwayjet Sakar area on the outskirts of the city of Deir Ezzor. The helicopters attacked places in Hwayjet Sakar.

 

Clashes are taking place between IS and the regime forces in the vicinity of the airbase of Deir Ezzor and near the mountain of al- Thurdah that is adjacent to the airbase, amid carrying out 3 raids on places around the airbase.

 

Unknown gunmen had targeted an IS checkpoint in the bridge of the city of al- Mayadin in the east of Deir Ezzor with no information about the destiny of the militants who were at the checkpoint.

 

IS militants have still dug a trench since days in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, where cross- cutting sources reported to SOHR that IS are digging a trench extends from Boqrus Desert to al- Tayyarat area in al- Mayadin Desert in the eastern countryside while they let an entrance for the people, cars and vehciles to go in and outside the city, and they have enhanced the entrance with a checkpoint. The trench extends for about 15 km and enhanced by earthen berm in attempt by IS to control the process of entry and exit of the civilians and vehicles after launching several attacks on IS militants by unknown gunmen and which led to kill dozens of IS members specially in the city of al- Mayadin. They have also tried to link this trench with the city of al- Bokamal.
