Turkish Customs nabs 589 migrants at Greece’s border, 15 on Syrian border

ATHENS: The Turkish Customs captured a total of 589 migrants on its Western border with Greece and 15 Chinese nationals along with 15 Syrians and hundreds of Syrian citizens who attempted to illegally enter Turkey from the Syrian side on 5th April.

The Turkish Customs said it captured The Turkish military said in a statement on its website that it stopped 289 Syrians trying to enter Turkey from Syria on April 5. Turkish border troops have increased patrols to prevent illegal crossings. Security forces seized 1,647 packages of cigarettes, 1,620 kilograms of food and other equipment during the latest operation.
