YPG, backed by al- Khabour Guards Forces, al- Sanadid army and the Syriac Military Council, expels IS out of more than 230 towns, villages and farmlands

YPG could advance and seize the whole countryside on the city of Ras al- Ayn (Sari Kanyeh) after fierce clashes with IS militants lasted for 22 days and accompanied by violent and intense airstrikes carried out by US- led coalition warplanes on IS positions in Ras al- Ayn and Tal Tamer in the province of al- Hasakah.

SOHR knew that YPG, backed by al- Khabour Guards Forces, al- Sanadid army affiliated to the governor of al- Jazirah district Hamidi Daham al- Hadi  and the Syriac Military Council, could take control over more than 230 towns, villages and farmlands in the whole countryside that extends from the western outskirts of the city of al- Hasakah through Tal Tamer and reaching to the Syrian- Turkish border in the countryside of Ras al- Ayn (Sari Kanyeh) and Abdul Aziz Mountain in the southern outskirts of YPG- held area. The clashes, which erupted 22 days ago, coincided with intense airstrikes carried out by US- led coalition warplanes on IS- held areas, where YPG had forced IS to run away towards the southern countryside of al- Hasakah and beyond the administrative boundary of the province of al- Raqqa.

US- led coalition airstrikes and the clashes between YPG and IS resulted in the death of 260 IS militants, including at least 180 bodies dragged by YPG.

This is considered the fourth collapse of Islamic State in front of YPG after IS defeat in the city of Ayn al- Arab (Kobani) in January 26, town of Tal Hamis in February 27 and town of Tal Brak on the 28th of the same month.
