To protect its leaders and in compensation for the lack of members, the “Islamic State” installs surveillance cameras in the city of Raqqa

Al-Raqqah Province:

The “Islamic State” installed surveillance cameras in several streets and strategic areas in the city of Al-Raqqah, SOHR activists saw the cameras in several areas in the city, like al-Na’eem roundabout, al-Rasheed park, al-Amasi Street, al-Noor Street near al-Noor mosque, Tal Abyad Street and other areas in the city of Al-Raqqah, this installation, which is one of the responsibilities of “the Islamic State security apparatus”, came after the extreme reduction in “al-Hisbah” patrols inside the city and the near-full absence of  female members of al- Hesbah inside the city, in order to cover the shortage of “al-Hisbah” and the “Islamic Police”  members, where most of them were pushed into the battlefronts in several areas in Syria, besides providing protection for IS leaders and members. In addition to, IS directs continuously the electricity to the areas and streets where the leader figures are, while there is no electricity in a lot of other neighborhoods of the city, because of fear of breakthroughs and armed attacks that they may be exposed to, similar to what happened in the cities of al-Bokamal and al-Mayadeen in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, where commanders and leaders of the organization had repeated attacks by unknown gunmen led to the loss of tens of IS members, and also in case of any operation similar to the US paratrooper landing in al-Omar oilfield in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor in May 2015 targeting the “Islamic State”.
