SOHR published this statistic 2 weeks after Bashar al- Assad speech in front of the heads and members of popular organization, professional associations, and the chamber of industry, commerce, agriculture and tourism, where he talked about are in default of the compulsory military service and the escapees, and about the completion of the army because of the shortage of its soldiers. He also promised of enhancing some strategic points like Jeser al- Shogour and Sahl al- Ghab which had been lost after his speech as well as the loss of the city of al- Qaryatain in Homs. This statistics comes 13 months after the ominous speech of the head of the Syrian regime Bashar al- Assad, where he where he promised his audience and slappers that the regime forces are going to re-capture areas like Al Raqqa, Deir Ezzor, Aleppo and other regions in Syria, but instead they have started to lose more airbases, checkpoints, military barracks, economic institutions in the provinces of Daraa, Idlib, al- Quneitera, al- Raqqa, al- Hasakah, Deir Ezzor and wide areas of the Syrian Desert, as well as losing more than 23000 soldiers in the largest rate of casualties, in 13 months, among the regime forces and their militiamen since the beginning of the Syrian revolution in March 18, 2011.

This statistics also comes in conjunction with the ongoing tension that prevails in a lot of villages, towns and cities of the Syrian coastal, the western countryside of Hama and Homs where the regime’s soldiers and NDF members come from and who were in the areas that witnessed huge casualties on the regime forces ranks, the last casualties were in Jeser al- Shogour and villages of Sahl al- Ghab.

In addition to, this statistic comes coinciding with the ongoing tension in the city of Lattakia and its countryside, where a sit-in held in the city after Sulaiman al- Assad – the son of Bashar al- Assad cousin and the son of the leader of NDF Hlal al- Assad who were killed in March 23, 2014 –shot the colonel in front of his children at al- Azhari Roundabout in the center of Lattakia city because the car of the colonel exceeded Sulaiman’s one, amid calls to execute him saying that “they offered a lot of their sons in the last 4 years for the Syrian and the regime not for Sulaiman al- Assad who wreaks havoc in Syria while the sons of officers and soldiers hardly have their living.

In the last August 2014, reliable resources with a strong link with officers in the Division of Organization and Administration in the Syrian Regime Army reported to SOHR that the death toll of the regime forces is more than 75000 that means 35000 soldiers more than the number which is document by SOHR. And the death toll of NDF and the people’s armed committees ( al Shabiha)  has reached to 40000, that means 14000 more than the number which SOHR could document. The same resources reported that about 70 % of the casualties of the regime forces and their militiamen are Syrians and come from villages, towns and cities of the Syrian coastal, the western countryside of Hama and areas from the city of Homs and its countryside.
