Turkey detains six for planning Daesh attacks

AFP reports that Turkish forces detained six suspected Daesh militants under suspicion of plotting attacks in the central city Konya.

Governor Muammer Erol said in a statement Saturday that six foreigners were detained late Friday night. He further stated that they group of people was “in pursuit of attacks” targeted at government officials.

According to AFP, Turkey has experienced four suicide bombings by Daesh militants in the past year.

Konya is the seventh most populous city in Turkey, and a major economic center for the country.
