Targeting the triangle of west Idlib – Sahl al-Ghab – Latakia’s northeast continues through renewed artillery and missile shelling by the regime forces

The regime forces renewed the rocket shelling after midnight of yesterday and dawn of today for areas in the triangle of west Idlib – Sahl al-Ghab – Latakia’s northeast, where the new shelling targeted areas of Kabani and Jabal al-Turkman in the northern countryside of Latakia, as well as areas on the administrative border between the countryside of Jisr al-Shughur city and the Syrian coastline Mountain, but no information about casualties, and the Syrian Observatory published yesterday that the regime forces are continuing their targeting to the areas of the triangle of Sahl al-Ghab – Lattakia countryside – Jisr al-Shughur, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that the regime forces renewed their shelling on places in Bdama, Al-Najiyeh, Maraand and the roads around it in the western countryside of Jisr Al-Shughur, in the western sector of Idlib countryside, which resulted in the fall of wounded in Bdama town, in conjunction with intensive shelling by the regime forces on several areas in the northern countryside of Lattakia, without information about casualties, and the SOHR published last night, that areas in the western countryside of Idlib, and the northern countryside of Lattakia within the triangle of Sahl al-Ghab – Lattakia countryside – Jisr al-Shughur, are witnessing ongoing and intensive shelling by the regime forces, where the Syrian Observatory monitored today evening, Thursday, the fall of more shells fired by the regime forces intensively on places in Jabal Al-Turkman and Jabal Al-Akrad in the northern countryside of Lattakia, in addition to the vicinity of Al-Najiyeh town and Bdama village in the western countryside of Jisr Al-Shughur, without information about resulting in fall of casualties so far.

And the Syrian Observatory also published yesterday, that it monitored shelling in the past 24 hours, which was accompanied by the continuation of the regime forces to send military reinforcements of material, soldiers, vehicles and ammunition to the south-eastern countryside of Idlib, Sahl Al-Ghab area, and Lattaqia countryside, intersected sources suggested to the Syrian Observatory that these reinforcements are a part of a preparation for a military action that may be carried out in the triangle of Sahl al-Ghab – Lattakia Mountains – Jisr al-Shughur in the incoming few days, and the same sources suggested to the SOHR that the operation in this area has been delayed, as a result of the military operation which started in Al-Suwaidaa against the “Islamic State” organization, as well as the fact that the regime forces which took the control of Daraa and Al-Quneitra, headed towards Al-Suwaidaa province to fight against the organization.

It is noteworthy that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights received in early June 2018, that members and officers of the Iranian Forces; and of the forces loyal them have withdrawn from Tall Rifaat area and its surroundings in the northern countryside of Aleppo, after Russian – Iranian disagreements about Russian – Turkish consultations to deliver Tall Rifaat to the Turkish Forces and the Syrian military opposition, in return for the withdrawal of the Syrian opposition factions from the triangle of west Jesr al-Shughur – Sahl al-Ghab – the northeastern countryside of Latakia. The withdrawal of the Iranian officers and members loyal to them coincided with the arrival of the Russian military vehicles, accompanied by regime’s vehicles to Tal Rifaat area, where it is suggested that they came to switch regime’s military units in the area, also the sources added that the consultations are underway about completing the opening of Gaziantep road, which connects Turkey to the southern border of Syria with Jordan, and ending the presence of the Kurdish Forces in the northern countryside of Aleppo after their withdrawal from Afrin.
