Rif Dimashq Desert witnesses continued fighting between the regime forces and Hezbollah against the members of the organization in order to advance at the expense of the latter and go deep into Tlul Al-Safa on the border of Al-Suwaidaa

Rif Dimashq Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the Syrian Desert in the part which is located in Rif Dimashq at the administrative border with Al-Suwaidaa countryside, is witnessing continued violent clashes, between the regime forces backed by armed militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities and the members of the Lebanese Hezbollah against the members of the “Islamic State” organization, and the clashes are concentrated in Tlul Al-Safa area, which the regime forces try to advance into its depth, to clamp down on the organization which imposes its control over the area, and to force it bow to surrender to the regime forces, which are intensifying their shelling every now and then, and carrying out sudden attacks through which the regime forces advance in new spaces and take the control of new positions, and the violent clashes between the both parties, are accompanied by exchange of targeting in the clash area, where the shelling and clashes resulted in the fall of more human losses.

Where it rose to at least 238, the number of ISIS members who have been killed in the bombings, shelling and clashes since the 25th of July 2018, while at least 117 members of the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them were killed in the same period, also the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented since the attack of ISIS in Al-Suwaidaa countryside on the 25th of July 2018, the death of about 142 citizens including 38 women and children, in addition to the killing of 116 people, the majority of whom were of the gunmen villagers who carried the gun to repel the organization’s attack, and a 19-year-old boy was executed by ISIS after being kidnapped along with about 30 others, and a woman died when she was held by ISIS in conditions that still vague so far.
