After investigating downing of the Russian plane off the Syrian coast, regime’s authorities release the 2 remaining officers and they return to work

Tartous Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights obtained information from reliable sources, who confirmed that the regime forces released the remaining officers who were summoned to the Air Defense Brigade headquarters in Baniyas city at the Syrian coast, to investigate them in downing the Russian place over the sea off the Syrian coast, and in the details obtained by the Syrian Observatory: the regime forces released the 2 remaining officers who were brought to be investigated, after releasing in the early hours of the summoning 5 officers to the Air defense Battalion in Baniyas, where 3 of them were immediately released but the investigation were carried out with the remaining 2, and then they were released and returned to their service in their former place within the air defenses in Baniyas, also reliable sources of the Syrian Observatory denied the authenticity of reports about arresting all members of the Air Defense Battalion in Baniyas, where they confirmed that these reports are completely untrue, and that they arrested the five above-mentioned officers only.

Sources informed the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that the Command of the Air Defense Brigade in Baniyas city in the Syrian Coast called yesterday morning, Tuesday the 18th of September 2018, for 5 officers of the Air Defense in Baniyas countryside, of those who participated in repelling the Israeli attacks which took place on Monday evening, the 17th of September 2018, and this call came in order to investigate the case of shooting down the Russian plane near the Syrian Coast by the regime’s air defenses in the Brigade 23 in Baniyas countryside, and the Brigade’s leadership kept two officers of the regime forces under investigation while it allowed the other 3 to leave, the sources also informed the SOHR that the investigation took place before a Russian officer, and the Syrian Observatory published yesterday evening, that intersected sources told the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that the missiles which dropped the Russian warplane off the Syrian coast, were launched by regime’s air defenses in the 23rd Brigade in the countryside of Baniyas, where reliable sources confirmed that the missiles were launched from the area and targeted the Russian warplane over the sea in the area between Jableh and Baniyas, where it appeared on the radar that a hostile target existed at the time of the Israeli missile strikes, which targeted warehouses of the Technical Institution in the eastern suburbs of Latakia city, where this institution which follows the Ministry of Industry is located in the industrial area and includes plants and factories in a civilian area, not a military one.

Reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that the Israeli missiles which launched on the countryside of Baniyas in Tartous Province; were trying to target air defense batteries that were firing missiles to intercept the Israeli bombardment, and the Syrian Observatory documented the death of 2 military personnel (who have not been identified until the moment) were killed during the intensive missile attack that believed to be Israeli strikes, which targeted yesterday night a warehouses within the Technical Industries Foundation located in the eastern suburbs of Latakia city, where the bodies were found after putting out the fires caused by the targeting, and the targeting also injured more than 10 soldiers: seven of them are Syrians and the other 3 were not known, which may raise the death toll.
