After the release of the 102nd batch and having more that its need of human reservoir in its areas, the regime prepares to demobilize 3 batches in its ranks after years of fight

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights obtained information from several reliable sources, confirming that the military authorities of the Syrian regime are making preparations for the demobilization of 2 new batches in the ranks of its military forces along with other groups of the reserve forces, and in the details obtained by the Syrian Observatory: preparations are underway by leadership of the regime forces for the demobilization of the 103rd and 104th sessions and the reserve cycle, who joined the conscription service and were kept, despite the end of their conscripting service because of the fight in the Syrian territory, and the sources confirmed that preparations are underway to reach a final decision for the demobilization, amid cautious anticipation in the ranks of members of the regime forces and their relatives, where the process of demobilization will include thousands of recruits in the ranks of the regime forces and thousands who have joined the reserve service.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned from reliable sources that the demobilization process for the 103rd and 104th batches and as well as the batch of the reserve service in the ranks of the regime forces, which was preceded months ago by the demobilization of the 102nd batch, came after the regime forces with the support of Russian Forces, Iranian Forces, and the Syrian, Iranian, Iraqi, Afghan, Lebanese, Asian, Palestinian and other nationalities controlled more than 61% of the Syrian territory, with an area extending from the whole of the Syrian south to the borders of the demilitarized buffer area, to most of the east of Euphrates and Manbij countryside, except al-Tabaqa area and 2 pockets of the “Islamic State” Organization, and the entire stripe connected with areas of control of the “Euphrates Shield” and “Olive Branch” Operation Forces in the Syrian north with part of the eastern Euphrates opposite to Deir Ezzor city, also the demobilization process comes after the excessive amount of recruits in the ranks of the regime in its reservoir, after its control over all the above-mentioned areas, in conjunction with the arrests that take place in the areas that were controlled by regime forces’ military operations or through “reconciliation and settlement”, which aimed to recruit as many deserters of the compulsory service as possible, also the process of demobilization comes as the deadline of carrying out the terms of the agreements about postponing the conscription service in areas of the “settlements and reconciliations”.

The Syrian Observatory published previously that the number of the Batch 102 conscripts in the regime forces, who have been kept, and who will be demobilized, reached about 15000 conscripts, of who are expected to be demobilized from the compulsory military service in the ranks of the regime forces, in early June 2018, and the reliable sources confirmed to the SOHR that tens of thousands of the member of this Batch of who were recruited in the conscription service of the regime forces in 2010, were killed and injured, while thousands others dissent from them, during the Syrian revolution, and most of them joined the ranks of the rebel and Islamic factions in the Syrian Opposition, and the Syrian Observatory published at that time that the 102nd batch of those who were recruited in the conscription service of the regime forces in 2010, where they were supposed to be released from service back in early 2012, but the regime forces deliberately kept them on duty for about 6 years of service in addition to their official service time in the army of the regime, using them in the clashes and military operations carried out in the Syrian territory, by which the regime forces managed to regain control of tens of thousands of square kilometers, after previous losing to the opposition and Islamic factions and the “Islamic State” organization.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published that it rose to about 55000, the number of people who have been recruited since the beginning of April 2018 from the capital Damascus and Rif Dimashq, within the areas which witnessed deals of demographic change through displacing those who refused the agreement which took place between the factions and representatives of the area and between the regime, with full Russian guarantees, in the south of the capital Damascus, and the cities and towns of Eastern Ghouta, the southern Rif Dimashq, Eastern al-Qalamoun, Zabadani, Wadi Barada, Madaya, the west of Rif Dimashq and al-Tal area in Rif Dimashq, and the intersected sources of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights confirmed that the recruitment process had been ordered by the Russian Forces, while fears rise among officers and groups within the regime forces from the Russian forces’ goal of displacement in gaining the side of the remained population within these areas and get closer to them, to make these forces –who are formed from people of the displaced areas– forces loyal to the Russians.

Also Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published earlier that preparations are underway for the demobilization of some 8000 members of the Russia supported-and-armed Tiger Forces, under the supervision and command of the brigadier general of the regime forces Suhail Al Hassan, the most prominent Syrian military regime leader, who had full Russian support in his military operations during the past months and years, and which caused the recovery of tens of thousands of square kilometers from the provinces of Damascus, Rif Dimashq, Aleppo, Homs, hama, Daraa, Quneitra, Deir Ezzor, and al-Raqqah, which raised regime’s control to more than 61% of the geographical area of Syria, and the Tiger Forces have participated in violent clashes against the rebel and Islamic factions, Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham, and the “Islamic State” organization in several areas of Syria.
