The demilitarized zone witnesses violent clashes by using medium and light weapons and machineguns between the regime forces and their allies against factions operating in the south of Aleppo and Sahl Al-Ghab

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the return of violations to the areas of the Turkish – Russian truce which has been applied since the 15th of August 2018, as well as the demilitarized zone where the “jihadis” are still stationed in their places and positions without any changes within the map of distributing the military powers, and in the details monitored by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights today evening the 21st of October 2018; violent clashes erupted and lasted for about an hour, between the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them against fighters of the factions of the National Liberation Front as well as other factions. In the areas of Khirbat al-Naqus and Al-Mashari’ in Sahl Al-Ghab in the north-western sector of Hama countryside, within the heavy-weapon demilitarized area, in conjunction with clashes at medium pace of violence that took place in the area of Al-Qarasi in the southern countryside of Aleppo, between the fighters of the National Liberation Front against the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them, amid exchange of targeting in the area, the Syrian Observatory also monitored shelling by the regime forces on areas in Abu Ra’idah al-Sharqiyyah and Abu Ra’idah al-Gharbiyah villages in the northern countryside of Hama, the regime forces also opened fire of their heavy machineguns on areas in the vicinity of Al-Lataminah town, also, the regime forces targeted areas in the southern sector of Aleppo countryside, without information about casualties.

And the Syrian Observatory published hours ago, that violations continue to the Russian – Turkish truce applied in the 4 provinces, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the regime forces targeting by mortar and artillery shells, areas in the agricultural lands of Al-Lataminah town in the northern countryside of Hama, within the demilitarized zone, which caused material damage, amid the failure by the truce’s guarantors in restrain such violations, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published today morning, that the cautious calm returned to areas of the Turkish – Russian truce in Latakia, Idlib, Aleppo, and Hama since after midnight of yesterday until now, where hours of calm prevail only to be interrupted by violations by parties of the conflict whether by shelling, targeting, or clashes, and at the same time, the agreement of the Russian president Vladimir Putin and the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has entered its 7th consecutive day without any changes in the map of the demilitarized area, where Turkish intelligence continues trying to persuade the “jihadis” to withdraw from the demilitarized area, stretching from the northeastern mountains of Latakia, passing through the countryside of Idlib and Hama, until the northwestern suburbs of Aleppo city, after failing in previous times to persuade them.
