Hajin suburbs witness continuous clashes with a desperate attempt by the “Islamic State” Organization to advance again and re-control the area

Deir Ezzor province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: areas in the suburbs of Hajin town are witnessing the continuation of clashes in the east bank of Euphrates River in the eastern sector of Deir Ezzor countryside, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the continuation of clashes between the Syria Democratic Forces against the “Islamic State” organization, and the clashes were focused in the eastern suburbs of Hajin town and its outskirts, accompanied by rocket shelling by Syria Democratic Forces targeting areas controlled by the Organization within its enclave east of Euphrates, within attempts of the “Islamic State” Organization to achieve a progress in the area at the expense of Syria Democratic Forces, and in the same context, the Syria Democratic Forces continue the operations of demining of what the “Islamic State” Organization planted in its former stronghold in its last enclave in Hajin town, before it was controlled by Syria Democratic Forces with the support of the International Coalition, while the Syrian Observatory published yesterday that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored continues clashes in areas at the eastern suburbs of Hajin town within the last enclave of the “Islamic State” Organization in the eastern sector of Deir Ezzor countryside, and other areas in the same enclave, between the Syria Democratic Forces against the “Islamic State” Organization, coincided with the continuation of shelling by Syria Democratic Forces on areas of the Organization, amid airstrikes carried out by Coalition warplanes from time to time, while the Syrian Observatory published during the past hours that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored today after noon, Tuesday the 18th of December 2018, heavy and violent bombardment by the International Coalition warplanes, in conjunction with shelling by more than 60 shells that targeted the controlled areas of the “Islamic State” organization at the eastern banks of the Euphrates River, in the eastern sector of Deir Ezzor countryside, along with violent clashes between the Syria Democratic Forces against the members of the organization, in areas in the eastern outskirts of Hajin town, as well as other areas in the same enclave, amid exchange of targeting in the clash areas, while the Syrian Observatory published this morning, that warplanes of the International coalition continue to fly over the eastern sector of Deir Ezzor countryside, in conjunction with carrying out renewed airstrikes on the “Islamic State” organization’s-controlled areas in its last enclave on the east bank of Euphrates River, where the clashes continue between the Syria Democratic Forces against the Islamic State organization, in areas at the eastern suburbs of Hajin town in the Organization’s last enclave east of Euphrates, accompanied by renewed rocket shelling targeted sites and areas of the Organization there, and Islamic factions about casualties in the ranks of both parties.

These clashes come after a group of members of the “Islamic State” Organization infiltrated yesterday into Hajin town, taking advantage of the bad weather conditions which the area witnessed on Monday, the 17th of December 2018, and reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that the Syria Democratic Forces were able to besiege the group of at least 11 members within Hajin town, where they were besieged from all sides and then the International Coalition began the intensive strikes targeting the positions of ISIS members, which killed the entire group, where the organization is desperately seeking to regain control of Hajin town, which it lost a few days ago after an intense attack supported by intensive aerial and ground shelling by the International Coalition and the Syria Democratic Forces; until the organization collapsed and retreated to the eastern outskirts of Hajin town, which used to be the largest stronghold of the organization in the part remained for it of the populated areas in Syria.

Raising to 956, the number of fighters of the “Islamic State” organization, who were killed in shelling, clashes, bombings, and raids within the enclave of the organization since the 10th  of September 2018, also it rose to about 545, the number members of the Syria Democratic Forces who were killed since the 10th of September 2018, also, the Syrian Observatory documented that it rose to 328 including 113 children and 72 citizen women (including 180 Syrian citizens including 76 children and 43 women of Syrian nationality), while the Syrian Observatory documented significant casualties during this third month, which caused the killing of 200 civilians including 77 children and 47 women, including 135 Syrian citizens including 55 children and 28 women, in several areas under the control of the “Islamic State” organization at the eastern bank of Euphrates River, in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, and the Syrian Observatory also documented the killing of 257 members of the “Islamic State” Organization since the 10th of November to 10 December 2018, while the Syrian Observatory documented the death of 172 fighters of the Syria Democratic Forces during the same period.
