Nassib crossing with Jordan witnesses decline of return of the Syrians because of the regime’s security grip, the compulsory recruitment, and reserve service

Daraa province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the Nassib border crossing with Jordan which was reopened on the 15th of October 2018, witnesses a shy and small return of Syrian civilians to Syrian territory from Jordan, reliable sources in the area confirmed to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, that the civilians fear to return to their towns and villages in Daraa province, because of the security grip imposed by the intelligence of the Syrian regime, as well as being wanted to join regime’s army in the “mandatory and reserve” service, which is an obstacle to the people of Daraa to return to their areas, of which a large part was destroyed by the military operations of the regime there, and at the same time regime’s authorities continue to send more lists of names of those who are wanted for the compulsory and reserve service, which increases the resentment of the remaining residents in Daraa, who refused to move to the Syrian north, and in the same context, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the 5th Corps continues to recruit tens of young people who have carried out “reconciliations and settlements” in Daraa Province, for a monthly salary of up to US $ 200 plus 10000 Syrian pounds, where they are attracting young people as work is scarce, and they are promised by them that the time they serve here will be counted of their mandatory or reserve period in regime’s regime.

It is noteworthy that the Syrian Observatory published on the 21st of November 2018 that Ago on the 21st of November 2018 that  Syrian regime continues through its forces and security branches, the Russians through its 5th Corps, the Iran and its forces through their military and security institutions, all of them continue to race in the Syrian south, to include the sons of Daraa Province of former fighters of the factions and civilians to their ranks, by forcing them sometimes and tempting them other times by material and moral inducements, as well as other arguments and pretexts, while the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the entry of the al-Bustan Association of Rami Makhloufi -the cousin of the Syrian regime President Bashar al-Assad- on the line of the race recently, where it tries through its representatives, to recruit youths and men with attractive financial salaries of up to US $350 per month, this association is spread in Daraa city and the towns of Qarfa, Izra’a, and Sheikh Meskin, as well as the villages of al-Lajat area east of Daraa, also “al-Bustan Charitable Association” was able through its name and its essence of Tashbih (from Shabiha; the abuse of power) to attract about 1000 persons during this short period, of those who joined it and were recruited, as the same association had done earlier with the sons of the Syrian coast by recruiting them, and putting them on the fronts against the “Islamic State” Organization in Homs Desert.

Within the overall countryside of Daraa and in particular its east; the Iranian forces and Hezbollah continue to attract more people in a continuation of the “Shi’ism” and recruitment campaigns, through offices and centers of the Iranians, the Lebanese Hezbollah, and Mazars (shrines) belongs to the Shiite sect in Daraa Province in particular, raising to about 2000, the number of people that the offices and centers of Hezbollah and Iranians have been able to recruit with monthly salaries of up to US $300 a person.

Unlike the eastern countryside of Daraa, the Russians and the Syrian regime dominate race at the western countryside of Daraa, where the established-by-Russia 5th Corps continues to recruit young men and boys both of civilians and former fighter of factions who have carried out “reconciliation and settlements,” to engage in their ranks and to be thrown side to side with the regime forces in the battlefronts, where the 5th Corps pays monthly and periodical salaries to those who join its ranks after they fill out a form with complete personal information, military service, whether they own a weapon or not and so on. At the same time, regime’s branches are spreading all over the western countryside of Daraa to take any civilian at their checkpoints, of who are at the age of “compulsory service or reserve service” in regime’s army, to detain them as soon as they pass through their checkpoints, in addition to arrests in search of wanted for conscription and reserve service, while kth 4th Division of Maher al-Assad -the brother of the head of the Syrian regime- recruits the sons of the western countryside in general, of who were former fighters of the factions or civilians and put them on the fronts, like Tlul al-Safa in Damascus, where tens of them were killed and injured in confrontations with the “Islamic State” Organization there.

Now Daraa Province from which the Syrian demonstrations and revolution were launched in March 2011, has become a racing arena in which the Russians and Iranians compete alongside the Syrian regime and its intelligence there, each on its own.

The Syrian Observatory published on the 23rd of October that as the Iranians and the Lebanese Hezbollah have completely militarily-withdrawn from the southern and southwestern borders of Syria, these parties have returned to go deep into the territory itself in the form of administrative and intelligence influence in the Syrian south, and in the details obtained by the Syrian Observatory from several reliable sources: the Lebanese Hezbollah and the Iranians have returned to Syrian south and to areas close to the border with the occupied Syrian Golan and areas near the border with Jordan, through employees of the Lebanese Hezbollah and the Iranians in exchange for attractive salaries, where Hezbollah Forces are trying to return with the Iranians to the area in the form of trace cells, which supply information and impose their influence in the area, after being forced to withdraw in the last third of June 2018 to withdraw from southern Syria towards 40 kilometers from the border with the occupied Syrian Golan and the Syrian-Jordanian border, in response to the Russian demands that the Iranians and Hezbollah should withdraw from the area, after Russian consultations with regional parties, just before the start of process of control of Daraa province.

The Syrian Observatory has learned from several reliable sources that Hezbollah in the southern area of Syria has exceeded that to form forces under names that do not declare being related to Hezbollah.
