Riad Darar, the joint chairman of the Syria Democratic Council:: the Egyptian role is essential in the area and we can agree on its presence in the east of the Euphrates in the shadow of the Turkish threat

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights directed questions to representatives of the command of the Syria Democratic Council about the bilateral relations between the council and the Egyptian side, in the shadow of the Turkish threat of carrying out a military operation in the area of the east of the Euphrates, and establishing a safe zone which enables Turkey to achieve the vision it aims to, where Riad Darar,  the joint chairman of the Syria Democratic Council, answered these questions directed to the Council ((SDC)), about the Syria Democratic Council’s view about the Egyptian role in the recent developments about the situation of the east of the Euphrates and the Turkish threats, and the nature of the Council’s thoughts about the ability of the Egyptian interference as a counter party to the case of the “safe zone”, to prevent the Turkish intervention, and the arrangements taken by the democratic self-management and the Syria Democratic Council to visit Egypt and establish stable relations to push the Egyptian authorities to be involved in the developments of the case of east Euphrates, he said “Egypt is the safety for all Arab relations, and for all the parties in the Arab world, so we think that Egypt has a major role in the area, and we can conduct more than a meeting in it, and we tried previously to be in contact, but that has not happened yet, and we still desire to strengthen the relations with it and agree on a meeting with the Egyptian side, we can also coordinate with the Egyptian side to be present in the east of the Euphrates, and they have more than a way to be there, and we can agree with them on this way, it not necessarily be against the Turkish position, we understand the Turkish position that will be unwilling to this communication, but we work according to the common history with Egypt, also it is our natural right to communicate with who protects our decision and position and safeguards our future, especially since the relations between Syria and Egypt are historical and they once had a common unity”

He added “We always wanted to have a bureau that maintains the ongoing relations with the Egyptian foreign affairs and the Egyptian brothers, and we can open a bureau to continue the relations in addition to our readiness to visit Egypt, at any time that is suitable for the Egyptian brothers”
