42 months of Russian operations on the Syrian territory kill more than 8000 civilians including more than 18150 people in their raids and shelling
The Russian forces completed their 42nd month of participation in the conflict in the Syrian territory, where the 6th month of the 4th year comes with casualties after 3 month of stopping the killing by Russian warplanes, this killing which was followed by a series of crimes denied by Russia against the Syrian people using the pretext of “fighting terrorism”, that Russia practiced against civilians, where it killed, destroyed, and displaced the people, and sponsored agreements that it let its guarantees quickly, where its shells were fatal, its missiles are destroyers, and the Russian hand was dipped in the blood of Syrians, and despite its attempt to emerge as the one coming to lay values of peace and coexistence, to appear as a dove peace, it appeared stained with the blood of the Syrian people, has killed thousands of Syrian civilians, displaced millions of them, and deserted tens of thousands without coming back, has established the stability of a country that has seen nothing in about 8 years -except war, death, murder, displacement, destruction, and clashes that have left nothing behind and squished bodies of Syrian civilians, these 3 years of Russian participation in the war on the Syrian territory have left casualties documented by the Syrian Observatory.
All of this went hand in hand with Russia’s support by its ground military forces for the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them, in their advancement at the expense of the rebel and Islamic factions, Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra), and the “Islamic State” organization, where with the Russian participation on the 30th of September 2015, the regime forces used to control an area of 48101 square kilometers which is 26% of the area of the Syrian territory, while the control of the rebel and Islamic factions used to be 96602 square kilometers which is 11.7% of the area of the Syrian geography, also the control of the “Islamic State” organization used to be 96602 square kilometers which is 52.2% of the area of the Syrian territory, but the Russian intervention did not succeed in expanding the control of the regime and their allies until the beginning of 2017, after the level of control of the regime decreased to 31419 which is 17% in early 2017, the lowest rate reached by the regime forces over the past 7 years.
And the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented during the 42nd month of Russia’s military operations in Syria the killing of 43 Syrian civilians in bombardment by Russian warplanes, where the death toll reached 18153 since the start of its strikes on the 30th of September 2015 until the 30th of March 2019, in which the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights was able to document the death of 1951 children under the age of eighteen, 1207 citizen women over the age of eighteen, 4878 man and young man, 5233 members of the “Islamic state” organization, and 4884 fighters of the rebel and Islamic Factions, Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham, the Islamic Turkestani Party, and fighters of Arab and foreign nationalities.
It is worth mentioning that Russia recently used the “Thermite” substance in their airstrikes, which is composed of aluminum powder and iron oxide, and causes burns because it continues to ignite for about 180 seconds, and it is inside the bombs used by Russian warplanes in recent weeks of bombing the Syrian territory, it is a cluster incendiary bombs, its type is “RBK-500 ZAB 2.5 SM” which weighs about 500 kg (about 1100 pounds) dropped by the military aircrafts, and carry small sized bombs anti-individuals and anti-vehicles of the type ((AO 2.5 RTM)), between 50 -110 small sized bombs stuffed with “Thermite”, which outpour out of it when they explode, the range of this anti-individuals and anti-vehicles bombs is between 20-30 meters.
