Gunfire in Salkhad town targets a commander in the local factions in a new escalation of security chaos within Al-Suwaidaa province

Al-Suwaidaa Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the continued security chaos in the province of Al-Suwaidaa, where assassinations, kidnapping and thefts occur almost daily in the wake of authorities’ inability to control them, where unidentified gunmen shot a commander in the local factions in Salkhad town in Al-Suwaidaa countryside, which injured the commander critically, where he was taken to the hospital of the town, amid a state of tension prevailing the town due to this incident.

And the Syrian Observatory published on the 1st of May 2019, that the chaos accompanied by the increased insecurity continue in Al-Suwaidaa province, where the killings, kidnappings, thefts, assassinations, and targeting continue all over the province, and regime doesn’t seem to be able to control security and limit this chaos, where the Syrian Observatory monitored a new incident dawn of today in Ara village in al-Suwaidaa countryside, where unidentified gunmen opened fire on a car in which members of the local gunmen loyal to the regime forces were riding in the village, which killed a member and injured 3 others, and in the same context, the Syrian Observatory learned that the bodies of 4 people including 2 women were found in a cave in the area, which is located between the villages of Salkhad and Mjadil in the countryside of al-Suwaidaa. The bodies were dissolved and unidentified, and no information about the circumstances of their deaths yet, and the Syrian Observatory published that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that unidentified gunmen opened fire at dawn on the 29th of April on a fighter of the local armed factions loyal to the regime forces in front of his house in al-Suwaidaa city, which killed him instantly, but no information about the causes and circumstances of his murder yet, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on the 16th of April 2019 that an explosion was heard in the neighborhood of Al-Kahrabaa housing in Al-Suwaidaa city, it turned out that it was caused by a grenade thrown by a person near a bus carrying passengers, without information about injuries so far, while unidentified gunmen kidnapped a man and his wife in Al-Raha village in Al-Suwaidaa countryside, and took them to unknown destination, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on the 15th of April 2019 that it monitored clashes after midnight of yesterday near al-Mishnaqa Roundabout in al-Suwaidaa city, it turned out to be caused by clashes between two factions, one from the city and the other one from Salkhad town, which killed a member of Salkhad factions and injured others, and the tension continues to prevail in the area until the moment, amid large public dissatisfaction due to the undergoing insecurity and the inability of those responsible for the security of the province to control it.
