After the death of 7 civilians mostly children and women on the evening of the 18th day, the 19th day of the heaviest escalation witnesses complete absence of aerial bombardment within the “de-escalation” area

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored cautious calm prevailing the “de-escalation” area, as the heaviest escalation ever enters its 19th day, amid total absence of warplanes and helicopters from the sky of the area since midnight of yesterday until now, where the shelling is confined to the fall of shells launched sporadically by the regime forces on Kabani area in Jabal al-Akrad, also several shells were launched by the regime forces and fell on areas in the northern countryside of Hama this morning, while the Syrian Observatory published yesterday night that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented in the 18th day of the fiercest escalation ever, the death of 7 citizens they are: a man and his daughter and 2 citizen women who were killed as a result of bombardment by warplanes on areas in Maarat Al-Nu’man city, 2 citizen women and a child girl due to bombardment by warplanes on areas in Kafruma town in the southern countryside of Idlib, also 6 fighters at least of the jihadi groups and the factions were killed in clashes against the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them in Jabal Shashabo and Sahl Al-Ghab, while 13 members of the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them including a permanent officer were killed in the same clashes.

While violent clashes erupted between the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them against the factions and the jihadi groups in the area of Sheikh Idris in the north-western countryside of Hama, in an attempt by the regime forces to advance in the area, in conjunction with cross fire between the both parties, and with regarding to the aerial bombardment, the warplanes carried out 2 raids on areas in the outskirts of Kafruma town and Khan Shaykhun city, raising to at least 71, the number of air raids carried out by regime’s warplanes targeting the countryside of Hama, Idlib, and Latakia since Friday morning, and they are 17 on Kabani area in Jabal al-Akrad, 11 on the clash areas in Sahl al-Ghab and Jabal Shahshabbu, 5 on Kafr Zita north of Hama, 3 on the outskirts and vicinity of Khan Shaykhun, 3 on al-Ankawi, and 2 raids on each of Baraboo, Arinbeh, Kafruma, Maarrat al-Nu’man, Kafr Nubl, Kafrsajna, al-Naqir, Tremla, Mdaya, Hish, al-Hbit, al-Faqea and its outskirts, Kafr Ain, and Karsa’a, in conjunction with opening the fire of heavy machineguns by the warplanes on areas in Kafruma town and Khan Shaykhun city, also the helicopters dropped more barrels on areas in Sheikh Mustafa village in the southern countryside of Idlib, raising to 39, the number of barrel bombs dropped by helicopters since this morning, they are 14 on Kabani, 12 on the clash areas in Sahl al-Ghab and Jabal Shashabo, 3 on al-Lataminah and its vicinity, 2 on Tremla, Arinbeh, Sheikh Mustafa,Om Zaytunah and Abdeen.

And about the ground shelling, the SOHR has documented more than 300 artillery and rocket shells by the regime forces on places in Kabana area in Jabal Al-Akrad and the towns of Bdama and Al-Najiyeh in the western countryside of Jisr Al-Shughur and other areas in Murak town, Sahl Al-Ghab and Jabal Shashabo within Hama countryside.

And with the fall of more casualties, it rose to at least 479, the number of people who were killed since the 30th of April 2019, the date of start of the most violent escalation in terms of aerial and ground bombardment, shelling, and targeting since Putin – Erdogan agreement, and they are: 161 civilians including 30 children and 37 citizen women, and they are 33 including 7 female children and 9 women, another woman and two of her children, were killed in Russian aerial bombardment on the countryside of Idlib and Hama, and 25 including 7 women and a child girl were killed in the fall of barrel bombs, and 54 including 12 women, 11 children, and a member of the rescue teams were killed in targeting by regime’s warplanes, also 29 people including 5 women and a child were killed in a ground shelling carried out by the regime forces, and 20 citizens including 9 children and 3 women were killed in shelling by the factions on al-Suqaylabiyah, while at least 168 of the jihadi groups were killed in the Russian airstrikes and the regime’s shelling, in addition to the killing of 150 members of the regime forces in targeting and shelling by jihadi groups and factions.

And with the fall of more casualties, the death toll rises in the heaviest continuous escalation on its 28th day, to 632 people in the period since the morning of the 20th of April 2019, until the 17th of May 2019, they are 211 civilians including 44 children and 48 women, were killed in the Russian air bombardment and regime forces’ shelling on areas in Aleppo, Hama, Latakia, and Idlib, including 24 civilians casualties including 9 children and 4 citizen women were killed in the fall of shells launched by the factions on Aleppo city, al-Hadir town south of Aleppo, al-Khandeq village, and al-Suqaylabiyah town in Hama countryside, and 19 people were killed in the explosion of a truck loaded with high-explosive materials owned by the jihadi groups in Jisr al-Shughur city west of Idlib, and 186 of the jihadi groups and the factions were killed in attacks and clashes against the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them, and 216 of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them were killed in attacks by the jihadi groups on several areas of the demilitarized area.

And during the period between the 15th of February 2019 and the 15th of May 2019, the date of the meeting of “Rouhani – Erdogan – Putin” until today, the 17th of May 2019, the Syrian Observatory documented the death of 1008 people in the Russian – Turkish truce areas, they are 449 civilians including 114 children under the age of eighteen and 106 woman over the age of eighteen, they were killed in the Russian aerial bombardment and the rocket shelling by the regime forces and the factions, and among the death toll of civilians there are 48 people including 15 children under the age of eighteen and 9 citizen women over the age of eighteen, they were killed in the fall of shells launched by the factions, and 254 fighters were killed in different conditions within the demilitarized area since Putin – Erdogan agreement, including 158 fighters of the “Jihadis” and 305 of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them.

While the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented since the start of the Russian – Turkish truce the death of 1238 people in areas of Erdogan – Putin agreement, they are: 530 civilians including 146 children and 118 women, were killed in shelling by the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them, targeting, and bombardment by warplanes, and among them there are 51 people including 15 children and 8 women, were killed in the fall of shells launched by the factions, and 321 fighters were killed in deferent circumstances within the demilitarized area since Putin – Erdogan agreement, including 173 of the “Jihadi” fighters and 23 fighters of Jaysh al-Izza, who were killed in ambushes and clashes including a commander at least, they were killed in ambushes and attack by the regime forces in the northern countryside of Hama, and 387 members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them.
