About 15 of the regime forces and their loyal militias were killed in a new attack by ISIS in the Syrian Desert

The “Islamic State” organization continues its movements in the Syrian desert seeking to target new targets, where it attacked sites of the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them in al-Fayda area south of Deir Ezzor City within the Syrian desert, after which violent clashes took place between both parties, which killed at least 13 members of the regime forces in addition to 4 of the organization’s members, and the death toll is expected to rise because there are some people in critical situation, also the Organization was able to control points in the area, thus, increasing the death toll of casualties since the March 2019, where the Syrian Observatory documented during the period between the 24th of March 2019 until the 31st of May 2019 the death of at least 111 members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, including at least 2 Russians, in addition to 9 of the Iranian militias of non-Syrian nationalities, were all killed during attacks, bombings and ambushes by the “Islamic State” organization west of Euphrates in the deserts of Deir Ezzor, Homs, and Al-Suwaidaa, also the Syrian Observatory documented the killing of 40 members of the “Islamic State” Organization, of who were killed during the same period during attacks, shelling, and targeting.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on the 29th of May 2019 that the combing operations are continuing from Al-Bokamal Desert to Al-Mayadin Desert in the eastern sector of Deir Ezzor countryside, by the regime forces backed by militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities and the Iranian forces, in an attempt to limit the continued operations by the “Islamic State” organization in the area, amid ongoing reinforcements that are being brought to the area in order to fortify the positions and posts after the gross human losses that the regime forces and Iranian militiamen sustained in the organization’s attacks and operations in the Syrian Desert, and the Syrian Observatory published today morning, that the Iranian militiamen which are located in Al-Mayadin city with the militiamen of the National Defense Forces, have sent large military reinforcements to Deir Ezzor Desert against the backdrop of the continued operations by the “Islamic State” organization against the Iranians and the regime forces in the desert which left tens of casualties in their ranks, and in the details obtained by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights; these reinforcements were represented by sending a military column of about 20 “4×4” vehicles with heavy machine guns installed over them, armored personnel and canons carriers in addition to ammunition, weapons, soldiers and other logistic equipment, in an attempt to fortify and strengthen their posts against the organization’s repeated and escalated attacks, the SOHR also learned that the regime forces tended recently to launch flares almost daily towards Deir Ezzor Desert in order to reconnoiter the area at night, and the Syrian Observatory published on the 21st of May 2019, that the “Islamic State” organization continues its operations against the regime forces and their loyal militias in the Syrian Desert, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the “Islamic State” Organization targeting by a guided missile a tank of the gunmen loyal to the regime forces near al-Sokhna in the eastern desert of Homs, which caused damage in addition to casualties, where rat least 5 members of gunmen loyal to the regime forces were killed, thus, increasing the death toll of casualties since March 2019, where the Syrian Observatory documented during the period between the 24th of March 2019 until the 20th of May 2019 the death of at least 98 members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, including at least 2 Russians, in addition to 9 of the Iranian militias of non-Syrian nationalities, were all killed during attacks, bombings and ambushes by the “Islamic State” organization west of Euphrates in the deserts of Deir Ezzor, Homs, and Al-Suwaidaa, also the Syrian Observatory documented the killing of 36 members of the “Islamic State” Organization, of who were killed during the same period during attacks, shelling, and targeting.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on the 18th of May 2019 that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored violent clashes in areas at the deserts of Muhassan and al-Boleel in Deir Ezzor Province, between the regime forces and their loyal militias of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities against the “Islamic State” Organization, accompanied by exchange of shells and heavy machinegun targeting, amid information about casualties and injuries in the ranks of both parties, and the Syrian Observatory published yesterday that the the “Islamic State” Organization continues its operations against the regime forces and their militias in the Syrian Desert, where it attacked during the past hours sites in al-Sawwana area and the vicinity of the Phosphate Plant in the eastern desert of Homs, after which violent clashes took place between both parties, during which the Organization managed to kill 7 members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them, amid information about more casualties and injuries in the ranks of both parties, and with the fall of more casualties.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on the 10th of May 2019 that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored clashes in areas in al-Mayadin Desert and Boqruss village, between the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them against members of the “Islamic State” organization, after an attack carried out by the latter on sites of the first during late hours of the night, accompanied by exchange of targeting and information about casualties in the ranks of both parties, and the Syrian Observatory published on the 7th of May 2019 that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the regime forces with the support of their loyal militias, have started combing operations in the eastern desert of Homs, in search of sites and points where the “Islamic State” Organization is located there, after the increase of attacks of ISIS members in the Syrian desert causing tens of casualties and injuries in the ranks of the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them, it worth mentioning that the “Islamic State” Organization controls a vast area in the Syrian desert stretching from Jabal Abu Rjameen northeast of Palmyra down to the western countryside of Deir Ezzor, within an area of up to 4000 Square kilometers, and the Syrian Observatory published on the 4th of May 2019 that the “Islamic State” organization continues its activities in the Syrian desert, targeting the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, through occasional attacks, including planting IEDs, mines, and targeting with machineguns and shells causing more casualties and injuries in their ranks at the deserts of Homs and Deir Ezzor, where the Syrian Observatory documented since the 24th of March 2019, until Friday the 3rd of May 2019, that at least 81 members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities were killed, including at least 2 Russians, in addition to 9 of the Iranian militias of non-Syrian nationalities, were all killed during attacks, bombings and ambushes by the “Islamic State” organization west of Euphrates in the deserts of Deir Ezzor, Homs, and Al-Suwaidaa, also the Syrian Observatory documented the killing of 28 members of the “Islamic State” Organization, of who were killed during the same period during attacks, shelling, and targeting.

The Syrian Observatory published yesterday that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored a new attack carried out by the “Islamic State” organization on the regime forces and their loyal militias in the Desert of Deir Ezzor, where ISIS members attacked the deserts of al-Quriyah and al-Asharah in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, after which violent clashes took place between them against members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them, where the warplanes participated in repelling the Organization’s attack, and confirmed information about casualties and injuries in the ranks of both parties, and the Syrian Observatory published on the 21st of April 2019 that in the shadow of the helplessness of the Russian and Iranian forces, along with the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them, in carrying out military operations within the vast geographical area controlled by the “Islamic State” Organization in the Syrian Desert, which stretches from Jabal Abu Rjameen northeast of Palmyra down to the western countryside of Deir Ezzor, within an area of up to 4000 km²; the Organization is heading towards the regime forces and their loyal militias of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, in several areas of the Syrian Desert, executing attacks and ambushes not caring for their fortifications and their missile and air support, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored a significant escalation in attacks of the “Islamic State” Organization and its cells within several areas west of Euphrates River and in the Syrian Desert, since the International Coalition and the Syria Democratic Forces announced victory over ISIS in east Euphrates area on the 23rd of March 2019.

Since announcing the official victory over it east of Euphrates, the Organization has sent messages to the international community by stepping up its attacks in various parts of the Syrian territory, and despite the decline in operations of the Organization’s retaliation in the Syria Democratic Forces’ controlled areas east of Euphrates; the west Euphrates areas and the Syrian desert witnessed a large escalation during the above-mentioned period in an area of about 40000 square kilometers, where the Organization attacked the regime forces and the local gunmen loyal to them al-Karaa area in the northeastern desert of Al-Suwaidaa, and the aerial bombardment it suffered there did not prevent it from carrying out another attack on the same area, so that was followed by another attack targeted Boqruss area at the west bank of Euphrates, where the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them are present, and the Organization did not had enough with these attacks, so it stepped them up in the deserts of Homs and Deir Ezzor, where it ambushed regime’s loyal gunmen in the southern desert of al-Mayadin, and attacked the regime forces in the southeastern desert of Deir Ezzor, and perhaps the latest attack on al-Kom area and besieging 2 battalions was the heaviest attack out of all the recent attacks, in which tens of members were killed of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them, preceded by an attack by the Organization in al-Quriyah desert east of Deir Ezzor causing casualties and injuries.
