For the second day in a row…protest in al-Hasakah against the decision to ban motorcycle roaming completely by “Asayish”

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored for the second consecutive day, the continuation of protests against the decision of “Asayish” to ban motorcycle roaming inside the city, where the Internal Security Forces issued a decision stipulated the prohibition of the use of motorcycles once and for all in al-Hasakah city starting from the 5th of October 2019, and according to what the SOHR’s sources monitored; the today’s protests were represented by setting fire to rubber tires in Al-Salihiyah roundabout and Al-Itfaa roundabout, in an attempt by the residents to stop the traffic in the city.

The Syrian Observatory monitored yesterday demonstrations in several neighborhoods controlled by the internal security forces and SDF in al-Hasakah city, due to their discontent of the decision issued by the Internal Security Forces “Asayish” to prohibit the use of motorcycles once and for all in al-Hasakah city starting from the 5th of October 2019, where the demonstrators gathered in front of the Asayish headquarters in al-Aziziya neighborhood in the city, and called them and the “Hasakah Protection Committee” to undo the decision and not to apply it, where the Committee and Asayish attributed the decision due to the attacks, kidnappings, assassinations, and theft that the citizens there are suffering by terrorists, while a similar decision was applied in al-Shaddadi city but it was canceled after demonstrations in the city, the Syrian Observatory published on the 24th of September 2019 that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored a demonstration this morning for tens of citizens in al-Shaddadi city, which is controlled by the Syria Democratic Forces in the southern countryside of al-Hasakah, followed by a strike by the residents represented by closing their commercial shops and some of the main roads in the city, protesting against preventing motorcycles from entering the area by the Internal Security Forces, after the booby-trapped motorcycle bombings increased in the area.
