The regime’s security services arrest young men and appropriate real estate of people who were fighters and commanders in the opposition factions in the south of the capital Damascus

Damascus Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned from reliable sources that patrols affiliated to the “Military Security” branch have carried out a campaign of arrests since early this month, that targeted 18 young men from the areas of Yalda, Babbila and Beit Sahem south of the Syrian capital, Damascus, and according to the SOHR’s sources; the arrests included members operating within the 4th Division of those who joined it after the regime imposed its control over the area in May 2018, in addition to arrests that targeted citizens despite striking settlement deals before more than a year.

And this campaign of arrests came against the backdrop of criminal suits against some young men accusing them of deliberate killing of members and informers of the Syrian regime during the opposition factions’ control on the towns of south Damascus.

And in connection to this, local sources informed the Syrian Observatory that Filastin Branch of the regime’s intelligence has appropriated shops, houses and farm lands owned by young men and commanders in the opposition factions of those who left to the Syrian North, and prevented their relative from taking any furniture or property from these real estate.
