Since the suspension of Operation Peace Spring in the media, 46 civilian casualties, 53 of the SDF, the regime forces, the Turkish Forces, and the factions loyal to them, and the latter controls Ras al-Ayn (Sari Kani) and 14 villages

Despite announcement of a temporary ceasefire in northeastern Syria by the American Vice President Mike Pence; on the 17th of this month after his meeting with the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, for 120 hours to give the Syria Democratic Forces a deadline to withdraw from the border areas, the practical reality confirms that Turkish Forces and their loyal factions did not stop firing for a moment, they even besieged Ras al-Ayn (Sari Kani) city and prevented “SDF” from withdrawing from it, and prevented the evacuation of the injured and the evacuation of bodies of those who were killed in the military operation in the city, before the factions allowed the exit of SDF, the injured, and the bodies from Ras al-Ayn.

And according to what the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has documented, the period following the announcement of the American ceasefire until this moment resulted in the death of 46 civilians; in addition to 34 of the Syria Democratic Forces and 17 Turkey-loyal factions, in addition to the killing of one member of the regime forces and one of the Turkish Forces.

Despite the supposed ceasefire, clashes continue with a cover of Turkish airstrikes and ground shelling by the Ankara-loyal factions, in areas of Tal Abyad, Ayn Issa, and Ayn al-Arab countryside (Kobani), as well as the continuation of clashes in the area between Tal Tamr and Ras al-Ayn.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also monitored advancement of the Turkish forces and their loyal factions, and their control of Ras al-Ayn city and 14 villages in the period following the announcement of the ceasefire; in a joint press conference between the American Vice President Mike Pence and the Turkish President, who the American President Donald Trump considered is a “great man”, arguing that he will avoid thousands of people from falling in a catastrophe by agreeing to a ceasefire, also the other agreement that took place between Putin and Erdogan did not stop the Turkey-loyal factions from bombing and attacking the aforementioned areas.
