Despite hundreds of air and ground strikes, Latakia Mountains claim about 90 members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them in 8 days

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored a cautious calm in areas of Latakia Mountains since after midnight of yesterday until now, interrupted by targeting and exchange of shelling between the regime forces and the jihadi groups, after violent clashes in the area took place yesterday, in an attack by the Jihadis and factions on positions of the regime forces, preceded by failed attempts of advancement by the regime forces in Jabal al-Akrad over the course of 7 days despite hundreds of air and ground strikes, during which they suffered heavy losses of equipment and members, where the Syrian Observatory documented the killing of 88 members of the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them during 8 days of shelling and clashes in Latakia Mountains while 40 of the jihadi groups were killed in air land shelling and clashes during the same period, and in the same context, the Russian warplanes carried out this morning several raids on Ma’aret Hurmah town in the southern countryside of Idlib, while the regime forces shelled after midnight areas in Ma’aret Hurmah, Kafrsajna, Sheikh Mustafa, Arinbeh, Tahtaya, and al-Tah in the southern and southeastern countryside of Idlib.

The Syrian Observatory published in the past few hours that the Russian warplanes carried out raids targeting the area of Kabani in the northern countryside of Latakia, in conjunction with artillery and rocket shelling targeted the areas of Latakia countryside, where it targeted Jabal Al-Akrad, Habal Al-Turkman and the roads to them from the western countryside of Idlib and Sahl Al-Ghab, while areas west of Abu Al-Duhur in the eastern countryside of Idlib to the southern countryside of Aleppo, witnessed sporadic shelling along with the overflight of reconnaissance drones over the area, and according to sources of the Syrian Observatory; the factions and jihadi groups withdrew from most of the positions they had advanced into in Jabal Al-Akrad, and the SOHR has monitored shelling by cluster missiles fired by the Russian warships stationed in the Mediterranean Sea near the Syrian shores, without documenting casualties, this was coincided with cautious calm monitored by the SOHR, prevailing the clash areas in Jabal Al-Akrad in the northern countryside of Latakia after the fierce battles which took place today between the factions and jihadi groups on one hand, and the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them, and the Syrian Observatory documented during this day, heavy casualties as a result of the violent clashes in areas of Jabal al-Akrad in the northern countryside of Latakia since morning, against the backdrop of a violent and widespread attack carried out by the jihadi groups and factions on sites of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them, through which they managed to gain control of 7 strategic positions, where 23 members of the regime forces and militias loyal to them were killed, also 11 of the jihadi groups were killed, and the death toll is expected to rise because there are some people in critical situation, where jihadi factions were able to advance and take control of new positions in the northern countryside of Latakia, during the counteroffensive they began Friday morning on positions of the regime forces, where they gained control of Tallat al-Ballut and Beit al-Asim and the area of the four junctions Jabal al-Akrad, while the clashes remain at their most in areas along the contact points from Jub al-Ahmar in the western countryside of Hama; until Jabal al-Turkman near the Turkish border in the northernmost countryside of Latakia.

And the Syrian Observatory just published that the factions carried out infiltration operations in positions of the regime forces in Ayn al-Qantra, Tallat Aby Asaad, Ketf Sando, and Tal al-Hadadah in Latakia countryside, where the factions are taking advantage of the bad weather conditions in Latakia countryside which hinders the movement of the air force.
