A demonstration in Taftanaz in solidarity with the teachers’ strike for the 3rd consecutive day

A demonstration went out today, in Taftanaz town in Idlib countryside in solidarity with the teachers who announced about a general strike, in its 3rd consecutive day, in the areas of influence of the “Salvation Government”, where the demonstrators called for improving the education process.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored signboards wrote on them “you steal our children’s dreams by depriving them of the right to be educated by putting pressure over the teachers, so that ignorance spreads among them, O ignoramuses, agents, mercenaries”, while other signboards read “do the factions in Idlib play the role of the protector in the Kingdom of Al-Julani, where no one may ever reject his injustice and domination”, in reference to the events of “Kfar Takharim” days ago.

It is noteworthy that Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham and the Salvation Government have been in control in Idlib and countryside connected to it since they were formed in 2017.

On November 9, SOHR monitored a strike by the employees in the education sector of teachers and administrative cadres, in protest against the interruption of support for the education sector in the areas of influence of the “Salvation Government”.

SOHR monitored protests in Kafr Da’el town west of Aleppo, where the protesters raised signboards wrote on them “the dignity of a teacher is of the dignity of society .. save education”, another one reads “there is no renaissance without a teacher”, also “give the teacher his wages before his sweat dries”, and on another “a teacher with no rights equals a homeland with no education.”
