Afrin’s displaced people -including those with special needs- continue their demonstrations against Turkey and its military operations demanding to restore their areas

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored a great demonstration carried out by a group of Afrin’s residents -including those with special needs-, of who have been displaced from their area to the northern countryside of Aleppo as a result of the Turkish military operation “Olive Branch”, where the demonstrators started from the front of the Infantry School and roam in of Babins area north of Aleppo city, denouncing “Peace Spring” operation and demanding to restore their land from the control of Turkish Forces and the factions loyal to them, and the Syrian Observatory published on the 10th of this month that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the people who have displaced by the operation “Olive Branch”, to Tel Rifaat town in the northern countryside of Aleppo, went out in demonstrations in rejection of the Turkish forces and their loyal factions’ control over their areas, where they emphasized that “if the families of Tel Rifaat in Afrin want to return to their home, then they have to leave our lands and return to their home”.

Sources told the Syrian Observatory that thousands of Kurds, Arabs and locals of Afrin who have been forcibly displaced to Al-Shahbaa and of those live in Tel Rifaat, went out in a demonstration to reject the Turkish threats and attacks on the area.

According to the sources of SOHR; representatives of bodies and institutions of the “Autonomous Administration” and the council of Tel Rifaat Township, as well as the residents of Tel Rifaat of women, children, elders and disabled, participated in the demonstration.

The demonstrators lifted pictures of civilian victims who were killed by the Turkish forces and their loyal factions, as well as pictures of the casualties of the YPG and the YPJ killed in the battles of Operation “Olive Branch” that was launched by Turkey over Afrin in January 2018.

SOHR monitored signboards wrote on them “we are lofty women and are not afraid of Erdogan .. revolt against the Turkish occupation .. you hear the women’s cries in Afrin .. no to kill humanity”.

According to the sources of SOHR; the demonstrations started from Al-Bazar square in Tel Rifaat passing through the side streets chanting slogans call for “the liberation of Afrin”, amid ululations and the mothers’ hand clapping to the beat of songs.

SOHR monitored the stop of the demonstration in Al-Nahiyah roundabout, after holding a one-minute silence, then the demonstration ended with chanting slogans emphasizing that “if the families of Tel Rifaat in the occupied Afrin want to return to their homes, then they have first to give Afrin back to its original inhabitants”
