The American forces and “SDF” cancel an earlier agreement with tribal fighters to manage al-Hamada oil well of al-Jafra field

Unknown people set fire yesterday to an oil well in the area between al-Izba station and al-Jafra field, according to what reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory. The sources pointed out that 2 days before setting the fire in the well, the Syria Democratic Forces and the American Forces canceled an earlier agreement about al-Hamada well near al-Jafra oil field, which was reached last April, where they regained control of the well, expelled the old guards, and deployed new guard forces.

And on the 14th of April 2019, a tribal conflict broke out and killed Mahmoud Hijab al-Thlij of Jdid Ekydat, as a result of a tribal dispute over the oil well investment, which was controlled by tribal gunmen earlier this year, and sources at the time told the Syrian Observatory that “the dispute ended with an agreement that the Syria Democratic Forces will sell oil from this well for only $10 USD for 10 days for the sons of Jdid Ekydat, 10 days for the sons of Jdid Baggarah, and 10 days for Deir Ezzor Military Council, provided that they will sell oil to owners of the burners for $20 USD per barrel.”
