Confirming what SOHR published, a letter from al-Hasakah Governor prevents the Red Crescent from providing assistance to camps of the displaced people

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights obtained a document containing a letter from the so-called “Governor of Hasaka” as a chairman of the Relief Subcommittee, addressed to the Syrian Red Crescent branch in al-Hasaka and demands it “not move or receive new comers in camps of the province, or continue to offer contribute in opening new camps for them, and continue to provide support for the brothers displaced to al-Hasakah city and the safe areas of the province within the temporary shelters.” And this document confirms what the Observatory published earlier this month about a decision by the governor of al-Hasakah preventing providing any assistance to camps of the displaced people, according to the letter, a copy of which the Syrian Observatory obtained: “the 17 temporary shelters, including 85 in al-Hasakah, there are 71 temporary shelter centers, 85 are in al-Hasakah, 7 in Tal Tamr and its countryside, 5 in Malkiyyeh, and 1 in Qamishli, with a total capacity of 3246 families.” the letter dated the 31st of October 2019, continued: “and for residents outside shelters centers in the local community there are 16000 families, in order to alleviate the situation they suffer until they return to their original areas, in coordination with the relief subcommittee and the relevant government agencies.”

The Syrian Observatory obtained information on the 5th of November 2019, confirming that the governor of al-Hasakah received instructions from the State Security Branch and regime’s intelligence; not to provide any assistance to camps of the displaced people and preventing the international organizations from providing any assistance to the displaced people in al-Hasaka.
