Turkey continues the process of “demographic change” in the Syrian North .. and 40 persons at least enter its controlled areas via “Abu Rasin” crossing point

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights was informed from reliable sources, that Turkey is continuing the process of demographic change it started in areas under its control in the Syrian North, where informed sources confirmed that a number of residents of the Syrian North have been transferred to “Tal Abyad” and “Ras Al-Ayn” cities which came under control of the Turkish forces and factions loyal to them within the Turkish military operation “Peace Spring”.

“There are 40 people at least entered areas under control of the pro-Turkey factions, via Abu Rasin crossing point, where they being resettled in houses of the displaced people who fled the Turkish military operation” Reliable sources said to SOHR.

Reliable sources said yesterday: “Turkish Forces begun transferring citizens who wish to move to Tal Abyad, where cars depart daily in the morning and in the evening after registering the names of those wishing to move, and they are transported from Jarabulus to the border with Turkey and then to Tal Abyad with their property and belongings, on the pretext that they are returning to their original areas via Turkey.”

The sources said: “the escort starts daily at 7 am and again at 7 pm, and those wishing to move to Tal Abyad are transported and escorted up to the border of Tal Abyad and they leave them there.”

Since the beginning of “Peace Spring” Operation on the 9th of October 2019, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored violations carried out by the Turkey-loyal factions under the banner of the so-called “Syrian National Army”, attempting to force those who remained in the areas that they controlled in the Syrian north to leave, in order to carry out a demographic change in the area, while the Turkish Forces and intelligence and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan are watching everything, and the Syrian Observatory renews its appeals to the international community to press Turkey to stop the demographic change which Turkey is seeking to bring about in the area, and warns of the consequences of this process for the demographics of the Syrian territory in both short and long term, and the Syrian Observatory also calls on the international organizations to investigate the violations carried out by the Turkey-loyal factions of Looting, stealing, abduction, torture, and other abuses by the Turkey-loyal factions, right in front of the Turkish side, without any interference or attempt to improve the situations in the areas that are controlled by the “Peace Spring” Operation factions.
