Daraa in a week: An escalating popular uprising against the Iranians… Security chaos continues through 14 attacks and assassination attempts killing about 10 people

Popular demonstrations returned to the top of events in Daraa province, in a scene brings back the memories of the beginnings of the Syrian revolution in 2011, where Barely a day goes by without cities, towns, and villages of Daraa province witnessing popular demonstrations against the Iranians and Hezbollah, denouncing Iran’s expansion in the area, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored over the past week an escalation in the intensity of demonstrations, where people of the Eastern Karak, Bosr al-Harir, Hayt, Ma’araba, al-Shajra, Nasib, Daraa al-Balad, Tafas, Tasil and other areas in Daraa carried out demonstrations, during which they stressed the principles of the Syrian revolution and demanded that the Iranians to get out of the area, in addition to the release of detainees in the Syrian regime’s detentions, where the Syrian Observatory monitored on the 29th of November 2019; people from Daraa province expelling the Russian delegation that came to participate in the funeral of the former leader of the opposition factions, who was assassinated a day earlier by unknown gunmen west of Daraa.

These demonstrations come as the living and security situation in Daraa Province continues to deteriorate, and the security chaos continues to be very persistent, where the last week witnessed 14 assassination attempts, attacks, and targeting in different areas of Daraa, During this period the Syrian Observatory documented the death of 9 people, they are: 4 civilians, 4 of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them and the collaborator with the security forces, and a former faction fighter who made “settlement and reconciliations” and became part of regime’s security branches, including former leaders.

Raising to more than 197, the number of attacks and assassination attempts took place in various forms and methods by detonating bombs, mines, booby-trapped cars, and firing with light and medium weapons, since June 2019 until this day, raising to 137, the number of people killed in the same period of time, they are 22 civilians including 3 women and 2 children, 68 of the regime forces and militiamen. loyal to them and collaborators of the security forces and regime institutions, 26 fighters of the faction who carried out “reconciliation and settlements” and became in the ranks of regime’s security branches, including former commanders, and of the 15 Syrian militias of the Lebanese Hezbollah and Iranian forces, in addition to 6 of what is known as the 5th Corps which was established by Russia.
