“Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham” executes a citizen from Idlib countryside after arresting him 8 months ago and the issuing a “”Sharia sentence” to imprison him

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned from reliable sources that Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham executed a 25-year-old man from the Salqin city in Idlib countryside on Wednesday, the 11th of December 2019, and according to sources of the Syrian Observatory, the young man was arrested after he resisted members of the security forces of “Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham”, on charges of drug use, and he was later sentenced to 2 years in prison, however, after 8 months of detention; “Tahrir al-Sham” handed over his body to his relatives.

On November 24, the Syrian Observatory reported that sources informed the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights today, that Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham intends to execute “Hirabah law” against 30 indictees in cases of kidnapping.

Reliable sources confirmed that some of those 30 persons, acknowledged crimes including banditry, kidnapping and killing, after members of the security forces tortured them while interrogation, leaving the professional ways in interrogating and questioning indictees.

Sources said that the judge is “Abu Azzam Al-Jazarawy”, a Saudi national, he is the official who is in charge of the security file and known for his cruel and arbitrary judgments, also the trials are being held in closed sessions without the indictee’s relatives being present or even getting a lawyer, raising questions about what these courts want to keep from locals, it is believed that they want to keep the involvement of prominent commanders of Tahrir Al-Sham within these incidents secret.

Meanwhile, SOHR has received the names of a number of the persons accused of these crimes including 10 persons from Idlib countryside.

Local sources said that Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham asked the relatives of some of the indictees to pay astronomical sums of money reached 300000 US dollars for releasing them, but their families refused to pay.
