Regime forces go deep in Jarjanaz town’s neighborhoods and get closer to Maarrat al-Nu’man city, less than 9 km away of it

The regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them backed by air cover and heavy ground shelling, controlled large neighborhoods of Jarjanaz town in Maarrat al-Nu’man countryside after violent clashes, while the clashes continue around the town.

Jarjanaz town is considered the largest town in the eastern countryside Maarrat al-Nu’man, and it is about 8 kilometers away if Maarrat al-Nu’man city which is located on Aleppo – Damascus international highway, while the “Syrian Observatory” just monitored that the factions and Hayyaat Tahrir-Sham were able through a counterattack today to regain control of Kafr Basin and Babulin villages in the southeastern countryside of Maarrat al-Nu’man, after violent clashes against the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them, where the regime forces had advanced to both villages hours ago but were not able to hold their ground in the area.

In the same context, the factions destroyed a tank of the regime forces on Jarjanaz town, where the most violent clashes are taking place there. thus, the number of villages controlled by the regime forces since the start of the military operation on Thursday evening, 19th of December 2019 rose to 36 areas, and they are: Um Jalal, Um Al-Twaina, Al-Khariba, Al-Rabia, Al-Sharaa, Bernan, Sahal, Al-Farajeh, Abu Habeh, Al-Rafeh, Al-Serj, Haran, Al-Sayyadi, Tal al-Damm, Katra, Tal Al Shiekh, al-Brisa, Mazra’aat Al-Ali, Al-Burj, al-Haraki, Al-Minzar, Tahtaya, Al-Halbeh, al-Qarati, Karsatna, Al-M’eisruneh, Sakiya, Al-Tah, Al-Sarman, Abu Makki, Marata, Faalul, Al Haditha, Abu Dafnah, Taqana, and Jarjanaz.

In the same context, it rose to 10, the number of casualties of the regime forces since after midnight, in addition to 19 casualties of the Jihadi groups in shelling and clashes, also the Syrian Observatory documented since the beginning of the ground offensive 249 casualties of both parties, they are: 108 of the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them, and 141 fighters including 21 of the factions and the rest are of the Jihadis.
