Unknown assailants attack SDF checkpoint in Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: SOHR sources reported hearing cross-fire today evening, in Al-Hawaij village in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

It turned to be caused by armed clash following an attack by unknown persons believed to be ISIS cells on SDF members at one of the checkpoints in the village. No information about casualties was reported.

SOHR reported today that an explosion rocked Al-Shuhayl town in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

It turned out to be caused by an IED explosion near a house in the town that is under control of SDF. No casualties have been reported so far.

SOHR sources confirmed that the explosion took place near the house where a meeting including the town’s dignitaries, was held on the 27th of December 2019, for the purpose of forming an armed faction for preserving security in the area.
