“Al-Shamiyyah Front” expels police members from their posts in areas controlled by the Turkish-backed factions north Aleppo

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned this evening that members of “al-Shamiyyah Front” (one of the Turkish-backed factions), expelled police checkpoints and centers in the northern countryside of Aleppo, sources told the Syrian Observatory that the checkpoints of Naddah and Nadim, and Sejju Police Station have evacuated their positions, after an attack by members of the “al-Shamiyyah Front”, but no information about the reasons of the attack.

The Syrian Observatory’s sources learned that a meeting of the Turkish officers took place in Azaz Police Directorate, in order to resolve the dispute and return members of the police to their posts and checkpoints there.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored on the 5th of January 2019 that SOHR sources have reported about new armed fighting among the Turkish-backed factions within their controlled areas in Aleppo countryside.

Clashes flared up yesterday after midnight, between Ahrar al-Sharqiyyah against Ahrar Al-Sham, on the road to Al-Ra’i near Al-Bab city in the north-eastern countryside of Aleppo.

Reasons for the fighting have yet to be known.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned on the 3rd of January 2020 that clashes using machineguns took place between members of the 9th Division of the Turkish-backed factions, against others of the al-Shamiyyah Front faction in Jarabulus area in the northern countryside of Aleppo, sources reported that there was a dispute on the border crossing with Turkey, while a member of Shamiyyah Front was killed in the clashes and other citizens were injured.
