One month after the first patrol, the Russian military police spread near al-Mayadin northeast Syria

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored today the spread of Russian military police patrols in areas controlled by the regime and the Iranian militias northeast Syria, sources told the Syrian Observatory that the Russian military police vehicles also spread on the road between al-Mayadin city and Boqruss town in Deir Ezzor countryside, but no information so far about the reasons.

This comes one month after the first patrol of the Russian Forces roamed that area, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented on the 8th of December 2019 that a joint military column of Russian forces and regime forces roaming in Al-Mayadin city which is under control of the “Iranian forces and their loyal militias” in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

It is noteworthy that this is the first time for the Russian forces to roam in Al-Mayadin city, and no information was reported so far about the reasons for such a tour.
