Regime intelligence arrests former opposition commander in Douma city

Rif Dimashq Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the regime intelligence carried out a campaign of raids and arrests early this week. It arrested a number of members who settled their security situations with the regime in Douma city in Rif Dimashq.

SOHR sources confirmed that the raiding forces arrested a field commander with who is in charge of military checkpoints in some neighborhoods in Douma city, with five of his escorts, all participated in the regime military operations on the Eastern Ghouta.

They were accused of looting civilians and kidnapping others and blackmailing their relatives by asking them for money.

It is noteworthy that the field commander used to operate for the opposition faction of “Liwaa Shuhdaa Douma”, before he escaped in late 2014 towards Damascus and joined the regime forces.
