Unknown assailants open fire on a camp north of Idlib as security situation in HTS-held areas deteriorates

Sources informed the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that unknown gunmen opened fire of their machineguns on the IDP camp of “Al-Muwali” west of Hazanu town. No information has been reported about casualties.

On the other hand, SOHR activists reported hearing an explosion in Kafr Takharim town after anonymous people had thrown a grenade on the town’s police outpost.

Also an Imam of a mosque in Salqin city in the northern countryside was subjected to an assassination attempt on January 2, he was shot by unknown assailants while he was leaving a mosque in the city.

Idlib province is witnessing spread of ISIS cells and other cells affiliated to the regime forces as “Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham” and the factions failed to control the state of insecurity and lawlessness in towns and villages under their control especially the border ones.
