Joint exercises between the American Forces and SDF in the vicinity of Koniko gas field

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored joint military exercises of the American Forces and the Syria Democratic Forces, in Koniko gas field in Khasham Desert, where the American Forces launched flares in the vicinity of the field.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored on the 8th of January 2019 that SOHR has reported that U.S. forces still on continuous alert in the eastern Euphrates region, for any possible Iranian operations in retaliation for the killing of Qassem Soleimani, commander of Al Quds Force of Iranian Revolutionary Guard, where U.S. forces patrols continue to roam the vicinity of Koniko gas field amid massive deployment of SDF members on the field’s side with armored vehicles and rocket launchers.

In addition to extensive over flights along the Euphrates River by U.S. forces drones to monitor any movements there.

On Tuesday evening, a U.S. column roamed the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, the Syrian Observatory also reported that SDF brought military reinforcement to Jadeed Ekedat, located close to regime forces and loyalists-held village Tabiyyah Jazeerah.
