Turkish-backed factions fell trees and sell them as firewood in Afrin

Aleppo Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: reliable sources informed the Syrian Observatory that the Turkish-backed factions have been still continuing to cut down trees in several areas in Afrin.

Members operate within “Olive Branch” factions cut off more than 2,000 trees in the vicinity of Trandah village of Afrin city. Also militiamen of the Turkish-backed faction “al-Jabha al-Shamiyyah” cut down what equals 40 tons of trees belong to civilians in “Jabal Qashr” near Maabatli township in Afrin countryside.

The factions cut down these trees to sell them as firewood used for heating in the light of the astronomical fuel prices.

Yesterday, SOHR was informed that a group of five gunmen traveling in a “Jeep”, blocked the road to Raju township in Afrin countryside, that passes through mountain villages.

They stopped passengers in an area near the valley of Qasim village of Raju township and looted two cars after the had shackled their owners and threatened them of killing, then they headed towards Raju town.
