SDF thwart an attack by Turkish-backed factions in rural Tal Tamr

Reliable sources informed the Observatory that fierce clashes flared up between Syria Democratic Forces against factions of the “National Army”. They followed an attack launched by the factions this morning in Sawame’ Um Kif area in Tal Tamr countryside.

The clashes were accompanied by exchange of fire and lasted for two hours before SDF managed to thwart the factions’ attack. No information about casualties was reported.

SOHR has just reported that Turkish drones targeted an SDF former headquarters in an area between Al-Qahtaniyah and Dukar village. The attack resulted in fall of injuries.

On January 9, the Syrian Observatory monitored Turkish drones targeting a checkpoint affiliated to Syria Democratic Forces at the entrance of Ain Issa town in the northern countryside of Al-Raqqah. The targeting resulted in the injury of one member at least.

Sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that the targeting happened before the very eyes of the Russian forces stationed at nearly 200 m from the targeted site.
