Sweida residents protest deteriorating living conditions in Syria

Al-Suwaidaa Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: SOHR activists reported that tens of residents protested in front of the governorate building in Al-Suwaidaa city, against the deteriorating living conditions and high prices within areas under control of the regime.

This spike in goods and foodstuff prices is coincided with sharp fall in exchange rate of the Syrian pound against the U.S. dollar. In the past few days, the exchange rate of one USD exceeded 1,000 SYL.

In connection to this, tens of demonstrators blocked the road to the square of Shahbaa town in Al-Suwaidaa countryside for the same reasons.
