Insecurity continues in Daraa: Assassination attempt targets a former member of the opposition factions

Daraa Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored today an assassination attempt targeted a member of the opposition factions in Daraa countryside, where unidentified gunmen opened fire on him in Jassim city which caused him serious injuries.

Daraa province is witnessing widespread discontent among the citizens, due to the insecurity of kidnapping, killing, bombing, and the continued arrests made by the security branches and its members, as a clear message for the continuation of repression and enforced absence of people.
In this context, a demonstration took place in al-Arba’in neighborhood in Daraa al-Balad today, while receiving the abductees after they were released from prisons of the Military Intelligence Division.
Sources said that the kidnapping gang works for the military intelligence in Daraa led by a former leader of “Shabab al-Sunna” faction, who became part of the “Military Security” after a “reconciliation and settlement” he made.
