Car-bomb goes off as U.S. column passes in rural Deir Ezzor. No casualties reported

A “pickup” vehicle loaded with barrel-bombs exploded, two days after being parked next to the house of a commander of Deir Ezzor Military Council, on the road to Koniko gas field near the gas station and hospital in Jadeed Bakkara village.

Only two of the barrel-bombs exploded while a U.S. military column was passing. No information has been reported about casualties.

Separately, activists told SOHR that SDF dismantled barrel-bombs aboard a vehicle in Abu Hamam town in Deir Ezzor countryside. SDF members were suspicious of the car as it was approaching a condolence tent for a member of SDF where several SDF commanders were present, so they opened fire on it. The car swerved off the road and the driver managed to escape.

On January 17, SOHR sources reported that an SDF member died affected by the injury he had on the previous day, after an IED explosion in the vehicle he was traveling in, in Abu Hardoub village in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.
