Protest against Deir Ezzor Local Council calls for services and support of martyrs’ families of al-Sh’aytat Massacre
Tens of al-Sh’aytat residents carried out a protest today against the corruption of Deir Ezzor Civil Council and to call through it for support for families of martyrs of the 2014 al-Sh’aytat massacre, in addition to improving services, preparing a hospital in the area and opening a river crossing to regime forces’-controlled areas as part of servicing their area.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored on the 10th of January 2020 that several demonstrations went out in several areas in Deir Ezzor.
A demonstration went out in the Industrial Area’s roundabout where demonstrators gathered, then headed to Al-Ma’amel roundabout north of Deir Ezzor city.
Another demonstration took place in Al-Shuhayl and Abu Hamam towns in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, during which the demonstrators demanded the rehabilitation of what the war ruined. Demonstrators lifted pictures of fatalities of al-Sh’aytat massacre, who were killed five years ago by ISIS.
The demonstrators also demanded the toppling of the regime and expulsion of the Iranian militias from Deir Ezzor countryside. They also chanted slogans showing solidarity with Idlib province.
