Turkish-backed factions shell the western front in Tal Abyad with heavy weapons and shelling from inside the Turkish territory targets several villages

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned from reliable sources that the Turkish-backed factions started a violent shelling using heavy weapons targeting the western front in Tal Abyad. The Syrian Observatory monitored shelling from inside the Turkish territory targeted Salimah village and several other villages.
Sources indicated that large crowds of the so-called “National Army” factions which are backed by Turkey; are gathering heavy weapons in the area of the mills in Tal Abyad countryside, preparing for a large-scale attack on the western front of Tal Abyad, amid information about their intention to go towards Ayn al-Arab (Kobani) city.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored on the 16th of January 2019 that sources close to SDF informed the Syrian Observatory that Turkish forces and Syrian proxies’ factions carried out a rocket attack on SDF-held villages in rural Tall Abyad city north of Raqqa city, no casualties were reported to date.
