American – Russian tension in NE Syria: U.S. troops in Tal Tamr prevent Russian patrol from passing towards Al-Qamishli city

Reliable sources informed the Syrian Observatory that the U.S. forces stationed at the eastern entrance of Tal Tamr town in Al-Hasakah countryside, stopped Russian military vehicles at the town’s roundabout preventing them from continuing their way towards Al-Qamishli city via Al-Hasakah – Aleppo International Highway aka M4. This action comes within the escalating tension and hassles between both forces.

Separately, U.S. forces are expanding “Tal Baydar” military base in Al-Qamishli countryside, north of Al-Hasakah province, in order to bring troops from other bases nearby. They are also bringing Grad rockets from Iraq to the same base.

On January 23, Syrian Observatory sources report that American forces were stationed on the international highway M4, at the entrance to Por Said village near Hattin junction which connects Amuda and al-Hasaka city, in order to prevent Russian patrols from passing and roaming in the road.

In the same context, a Russian patrol entered Ain Dewar village and took the road of Semalaka crossing accompanied by a SDF vehicle, as Us armored vehicles parked at the entrance to the town of Gil Agha waiting for the Russians to pass.
