Russian-Turkish forces conduct 23rd joint patrol in north-eastern region of Syria

Syrian Observatory activists report that Turkish and Russian forces conducted a new joint patrol within the north-eastern region of Syria. The patrol was launched this morning from Sherik border crossing in Derbasiya countryside and went to Kasra area in rural Ras al-Ain (Sari Kani), before returning to the villages of Turat, Ta’alik and Atishan and then to Sherik crossing, accompanied with two Russian helicopters that flew over the area, while this patrol is the 23rd of its kind since the joint patrols began in early November.

On the 23rd of this month, The Syrian Observatory sources reported that Russian and Turkish forces conducted a new fourth joint patrol in the western countryside of Ain al-Arab (Kobane), where the patrol set off from the village of Ashima west of Ain al-Arab, Syrian Observatory sources added that the patrol used tear gas against residents of Khorkhori village who were protesting the presence of patrols and the Turkish presence in their areas.
