Regime forces storm Maarrat Al-Nu’man from three sides under a cover of intense aerial firepower

Fierce clashes have been still continuing on frontlines in the eastern and south-western outskirts of Maarrat Al-Nu’man city, between opposition factions and jihadi groups on one and, and regime soldiers and loyalists on the other. The regime forces are trying to advance further into the city and capture it along with intensive aerial bombardment on the western sector.

Regime forces seek to capture more territories after taking control of Kafruma town where they faced fierce resistance by rebels and people of the area. SOHR sources confirmed that two individuals blew themselves up using explosive belts leaving many regime soldiers dead or injured.

On the other hand, fierce clashes are underway on frontlines in both-western and southern countryside of Aleppo, between opposition factions and jihadis on one hand, and regime soldiers and loyalists on the other. The clashes are concentrated in Al-Sahafiyeen and Al-Rashideen areas, west of Aleppo, as well as other areas in the south of the city, along with intensive aerial and ground bombardment.

Syrian Observatory activists have documented more casualties in both warring forces since the ground offensive began on Friday evening. 107 jihadis among 137 opposition fighters were killed so far, in addition to the killing of 126 regime soldiers and loyalists.
