Fierce clashes are still continuing between opposition factions and jihadi groups on one hand, and regime soldiers and loyalists on the other, on frontlines in both-eastern and south-eastern countryside of Idlib.
These clashes are part of the military operation launched recently by regime forces with Russian air support. Since midnight, regime forces took control of Kafr Batikh village along with attempts to impose control over Dadikh village.
Meanwhile, Russian jets targeted the area between Saraqeb and Al-Nayrab and the vicinity of Darat Izza in the western countryside of Aleppo with several raids. Also helicopters dropped several barrel bombs on Sarmen town, along with ground rocket shelling on areas in Jubas, Dadikh, Saraqeb and other places in the eastern and south-eastern countryside of Idlib.
Accordingly, the number of areas captured by the regime forces since Friday evening, January 24 rose to 47 villages and towns: Telmans, Ma’ar Shmasha, Deir Sharqi, Deir Al-Gharbi, Ma’ar Shmarin, Ma’rata, Al-Ghadfa, Ma’ar Shourin Al-Za’alana, Al-Dana, Tal Sheikh, Sawami’e, Khirbet Mezyan, Masaran, Bsida, Taqana, Babolin, Kafr Bassin, Marhatat, Hamidia, Dar Al-Salaam, Salhia, Kafruma, Maarrat Al-Nu’man city, Wadi Al-Daif, Hantutin, Al-Jarrada, Al-Ruwayha and Al-Qahiryah, Khan al-Sobol town, Mardebseh, Al-Hartamiyah, Qamhana, Abu Juraif, Tal Khatrah, Tal Musaytif, Al-Kana’es, Karsyan, Hish, Kafr Mazdah, Jabbalah, Muqah, Al-Amudiyah and Armanya, Kafr Batikh).
On the other hand fierce clashes are underway between both warring forces in Khalseh area in the southern countryside of Aleppo. The opposition factions and jihadi groups thwarted eight regime attempts to advance into the area since midnight.
In connection to this, SOHR sources reported seeing regime forces bringing military reinforcement to Al-Zahraa area, west of Aleppo city. This reinforcement was deployed along the frontlines with the factions and jihadis.
