36 soldiers, rebels and jihadis killed in today’s intensive bombardment and fierce battles in Aleppo and Idlib

Fierce clashes are still continuing in both eastern and south-eastern countryside of Ildib, and the western and southern countryside of Aleppo, between regime soldiers and loyalists on one hand, and opposition factions and jihadi groups on the other.

In Idlib, clashes are concentrated in Tarnabeh area, west of Saraqeb, and other areas in Maarrat Al-Nu’man countryside. On the other hand, the battles are concentrated in the area of Khalseh, Al-Sahafiyeen and Al-Rashideen in Aleppo.

The clashes coincide with ongoing intense aerial bombardment by regime and Russian aircraft, along with exchange of ground fire between both warring forces.

SOHR activists documented the killing of 19 fighters, including 13 jihadis, who were killed in today’s bombardment and clashes in Aleppo and Idlib countryside. Also 14 regime soldiers were killed in battles on Idlib frontlines.

Meanwhile, three Iranian-backed militiamen were killed in clashes in the southern countryside of Aleppo, bringing the number of regime foreign loyalists who were killed in the southern countryside of Aleppo to ten of whom there are three fighters of Hezbollah.

As SOHR activists documented more human losses, the number of fatalities in the ranks of both warring forces who have been killed in bombardment and fierce clashes since Friday, the 24th of January 2020, rose to 328 opposition fighters, including 234 jihadis, and 312 regime soldiers and loyalists of whom there are ten foreign militiamen loyal to Iran.
