Unidentified gunmen assassinate former opposition fighter in Daraa

Daraa Governorate – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored a new assassination in Daraa governorate during the past hours, where unknown assailants assassinated a former fighter in the opposition factions, shooting him in front of his house in Daraa al-Balad in Daraa city, killing him immediately.

This brings the number of attacks and assassination attempts in various forms and methods by detonating IEDs, mines, booby-trapped vehicles and shootings from past June to date, to more than 281 attacks.

While the number of those who killed and died in the same period increases to 184 persons, 32 of whom are civilians, including four women and two children, in addition to 96 members of regime forces and loyalists and collaborators with regime security services.

33 members of opposition faction who made “settlements and reconciliations” with the regime, and became members of regime security services, including former leaders, and 16 members of Syrian militias affiliated to Lebanese “Hezbollah” and Iranian forces, in addition to six members of so-called “Fifth Corps” established by Russia.
